In the time of Abraham, the teacher Hermes Trismegistos asserted that all information about a man could be found within a single drop of his blood and that within a man was represented the entire universe. He formulated from this a principle which he called The Law of Correspondence which stated: "Whatever is above is like that which is below, and whatever is below is like that which is above". With these words Hermes created a deductive method which allowed one to glimpse the vastness of the created universe, where the biggest of the biggest is equal to the smallest of the smallest. Where all levels of existence share the same essence, organized within a system of holograms within holograms within holograms ad infinitum.
From this, therefore, sprang the conviction amongst the most wise that the shortest path of exploration of the cosmos was via a journey to the heart of man: "Know thyself, and you will know the universe." According to the publication "The Tao of Physics" by the scientist Fritjof Capra, using meditation as the only method of investigation, the ancient Vedas formulated, in the form of poetry, the beginnings of Quantum Physics. And that occurred three thousand years before our modern scientists arrived at the same conclusions by means of mathematics.
The Law of Correspondence has infinite applications. For example, if one takes a man's physical body to be "that which is below" and his mind to be "that which is above", we can say: "as is the mental state of a man, so is his body." One could have: "a healthy mind in a healthy body", or an ill body as a manifestation of distorted thoughts. Fortunately in the teachings of Hermes "the thrice great", illness comes hand in hand with the remedy: "Change your thoughts and you will cure your body".
It is evident that within a man exist both visible and invisible aspects. We can all examine the human body through our physical senses, but there is no way of seeing or touching a thought. We can only deduce that it exists from the effects that it produces. According to the Law of Correspondence, if it is so in the microcosm (here below), then it must be the same in the macrocosm (above). In exterior space we can see physical objects such as planets, solar systems and galaxies. But it is not possible to discover through these objects the mind that directs them. Only by deduction can we be certain that it exists.
In the human body everything is mind. Every cell is intelligent and protects the information which it holds. Furthermore, it has the ability to communicate instantly with other cells. These abilities are real but we cannot see them or touch them. For example: we stub our big toe and immediately the nervous system and the brain know about it. As a result, the injured toe receives an adequate dose of what it needs to heal the injury and fight a possible infection.
In the same way, in the universe Everything is Mind. Each cell of the macrocosm, be it man, planet, solar system or galaxy, possess proportionally the level of intelligence that it needs. The interconnection between these things and the Mind that governs them is also perfect: the All affects the parts and the parts in turn influence the All. It is a fact that "not even a hair from our head is lost without the Creator knowing." Equally, a man could be smaller than the most microscopic spec of dust in the galaxy, but if a human being changes, the essence of the whole universe will invariably be altered.
