Park Bench Buckhead

Several years ago, the original Park Bench fell in disrepair. The review I wrote there clearly shows that “Hulk was there and he was not happy” Sometime around May of 2013, I returned to the new location. It was a far cry from the somewhat abandoned locale. The new Park Bench is really great. There are many restrooms, and there are about 3/4 bars to get your drink on at. They have an ample stage, and dance area is large. There is a large patio with (if I recall well) a projection TV or something along those lines. I recommend this venue for live music. I am not a Buckhead fixture anymore, but I will travel to this joint whenever any of my favorite performers hit that stage.

Being that I'm not a college student, and out of my twenties, Buckhead is not my go to place for a drink. However when I'm forced by out of town company or through some desire to rekindle my collegiate youth, I sojourn over that way. Park Bench is my go to spot on a Thursday or Saturday evening. First of all the bar is huge, they have bands Friday and Saturday nights and dueling pianos Thursday evening and early Saturday evening. The bar itself is also large, so you don't have to fight your way up to the bar. The drinks are affordable and poured in a very generous fashion. The crowd is usually a fun group on dueling piano night. They have a smaller beer selection but nothing on draft.. which is slightly annoying. The staff is friendly and even though I'm no where near a regular they seem to remember me and take pretty good care of me. The piano players are without a doubt awesome! They have decent voices and the library of what they can play is awesome. I have requested that they play everything from country roads to remix to ignition and they have never said nope can't play it. I have heard Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, Matchbox etc I have always enjoyed the performance they put on. Lastly they have no cover charges and the place seems not to disappoint. The bathrooms could use some work as they tend to smell but it's not too bad. The other reason for three stars is that they don't have an atm machine and if you request a song the piano guys deserve a tip. All in all its not too bad and I always have a fun time while I'm there!

Typical Buckhead scene drinks are pricey, but that's common in this part of town. I liked the Dueling Pianos, but wish they played a better variety of music. More of a sing along than a dance scene.

Since this bar relocated I've been back a few times. The bar is pretty big and there is plenty of room to dance, hang out on the patio, etc. This might be one of the biggest bars in Buckhead, at least it seems like it. Bathroom was super clean! I need to check out the dueling pianos on thursday nights.

I have been going to park bench for years. I had a friend come from out of town last night and the bartender had made her a drink that had no liquor in it. I went back to the bar to ask for a shot of vodka to put in it. I told him I would pay for the shot. He was horribly rude, took my card, charged me 20 dollars for not even a full shot, and then threw my cup and receipt at ME. After that I was escorted from the bar. I was horribly appalled at this. I am a hard working woman and not a drunk college girl. I will NEVER be going back, and I will never suggest this bar to anyone else. This particular bartender was rude to multiple people and it was horrifying. Go somewhere else, you'll be happier with your service.

I really enjoy going to Park Bench for their live music on the weekends and especially for Dueling Pianos on Thursday. They always have a good crowd and while it's loud, very loud, you can always sneak out to the back patio for some fresh air and a little bit quieter setting. I would love to see them carry a wider selection of beers (maybe like a Fat Tire or Sam Adams?), but otherwise would recommend them for going out.
