Build your own workbenches with our excellent selection of tops. They are made of Eastern hard rock (sugar) maple and coated with a Durakryl finish. This finish leaves the maple a natural color with a satin smooth, low sheen surface which is virtually maintenance free. The top can be cleaned like any other counter surface using soap and water, bleach or fingernail polish remover.Measures 48″ W x 30″ D x 1-3/4″ TWeight is approximately 86 lb.Made of Eastern hard rock (sugar) mapleCoated with a Durakryl finishRound edgedMade in USAMaple workbench tops are flat when glued together at the factory. However, you must allow time for them to adjust to the temperature and humidity of their new home before they will return to their factory condition. Do not store the workbench in a damp location or lay flat on a concrete floor as this may cause the top to warp. Please note that these are designed as workbench and shop cabinet tops. If used as kitchen countertops, additional sanding and finishing will be required.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Dialdin from Close to Perfect I have bought a lot of Husky tool boxes and cabinets this year and this workbench is as close to perfect as they have come on any of the products thus far. Heavy duty, well built, well packaged. Only “flaw” I would note is that the hex bolts for the adjustable legs should have been button head so the bolt heads sit more flush and are less likely to scratch a tool box or cart that is stored underneath. I am storing a 52 inch rolling tool box underneath and had to swap the bolts out to button head with the nuts to the outside for this reason. For aesthetics and snag resistance I used cap nuts. Would have been nice if they would have foreseen the desire for adding casters and made the leg bottoms ready to accept standard HD casters but overall a great workbench. I also have a Gladiator workbench and the Husky is much nicer. The only thing the Gladiator has over this is an included power strip but it was a lot more money so a power strip had better be on it. Given the choice I would take the Husky even if they were the same price as my Gladiator bench top has started to sag in the middle which I don’t think is possible on the Husky with the design of the supports. If the top of your bench will finish flush with the frame, a good, low-cost option is to use plywood for your workbench top. The surface will be relatively durable against damage caused by tools and materials and it can be either sanded down or replaced as required. Plywood is also unaffected by seasonal humidity changes so it will not warp if subjected to differing levels of moisture in the air. However, if you are using the bench primarily for woodworking, it may not be as perfectly flat as you require. To improve the rigidity of the surface it is recommended to use two or more layers of ¾-inch plywood for your workbench top.

I understand this question is asked all the time, so I’ll rephrase it; Is there a limit as to how hard a wood to use for a workbench? I’ve cut some trees for friend, mostly Blacklocust and Osage Orange, here in Ks., Ok, its called Hedgewood, but it is VERY hard and heavy, ie. I have a 12″ long limb that cut down to 3×3 and it weighs an easy 5lbs if not 10lbs but dulled my carbon tipped saw blade. Would that be a bit overboard? Or would I be better off using the not quiet as hard Blacklocust?
